Well, it’s been
almost three years since I last wrote. When I last wrote we were in the midst
of Foster Care Training for the state of Missouri. We closed out our license on December 10th,
2013. In the between time we adopted six children. We went from a micro family of
three: mom, dad, son; to a mega family of nine: mom, dad, son, daughter,
daughter, son, son, son, son! It doesn’t
seem like three years, it seems like a different life. There’s so much to
explain but rather than write endlessly to catch up, I’ll try to be more
regular in my posts and over time introduce you to the Carlisle family, for
which I remain the Impossible Father.

I’m the last person who should be called father. My father never married my mother. My adopted father died when I was two years old (alcoholism.) So I grew up with a Mother afraid to remarry or allow any man into her life and that left my life also void of man or men. I have one son. He's now 14 years old. This blog is dedicated to him and everything he has endured in my attempts to be a father. At times it seems I make it up as I go along. By God's grace, I think I'm getting it right.
